German "Graudenz" Class

The Graudenz and Regensburg were laid down to replace the old cruisers of the Prinzeß Wilhelm class. They were designed to operate as flotilla leaders of torpedo boat flotillas. Both survived the war and served until the 30s.
In 1917 the armament of the Regensburg was modernized.

Graudenz - 1912: laid down as replacement of Prinzess Wilhelm at Kaiserliche Werft, Kiel; launched 25 Oct 1913; 1914-08-10: commissioned; ceded to France in 1920 transferred to Italy and recommissioned as Ancona; scrapped in 1938
Regensburg - 1912: laid down as replacement of Irene at A.G. Weser, Bremen; 1914-04-25: launched; 1915-01-03: commissioned, fleet service in the Baltic and North Sea, flagship of the IInd Leader of the Torpedo Boats during the Battle of Jutland; 1917: armament modernized; 1920: ceded to France and recomissioned as Strasbourg; used for accommodation from 1934 to 1944 at Lorient.
